Large Bales and Round Bales Can't Post

How long will a 4x4x8 and/or a round bale feed one horse. Or how many small bales are in each?

I take the weight of the roll and divide by 40. For example, I bought 4x5 rolls last year that weighed about 850. I figured that was 21 bales give or take. There are so many variables in how long one will last. We try to limit the amount based on what our desired pounds per day is. I hope that makes a little sense.

I found that my neighbor had the solution for me. He grows 4x4x9 alfalfa next to me and at $100 for 2 tones. Debt over. And a guy down the road is $75 for a ton of grass in 3x3x8. All I need to do is build a bigger hay barn. I figure that 6 tons for 1 horse is good.
