OK, I know this one is gonna get people going....I want to know how everyone feels about this tender issue. Let me be the first "bad guy" and say I hope it comes back. I see so many "trash" horses out there, and now there are so many, the price of ready to ride, GREAT horses are faultering. (4 years ago, I paid $3500 for a registered MFT mare. I can't sell her for over $500 now....In fact, I got a bid of $300 that I refused.) Also, there are so many horses that are being allowed to suffer from malnutrition, and I can't buy em all!!!! We have people in our area that are dropping off horses on public lands because they can't afford to feed em, or they just keep em in the pastures and they are starving! I don't like the fact that we killed so many horses, but lets face it, I would rather they die a quick death, than suffer like that. I realize some may get hurt while hauling, but the majority of them are killed quickly, and they don't suffer the death of starvation. Ok, lets hear your views!
