"Draft Horse In Pasture With Other Breeds" Can't Post

I have a Draft horse (mare) that is in the pasture with other mares of different breeds.
Is this wise to do? I was told this draft horse could do some serious damage if it was to
kick one of the other horses in the leg ( break it in half ). One comment that was made to
me was its like putting a Mack truck in with a bunch of pickups. She is not trying to be dominate
in the herd just protects herself when a dominate mare is making trouble with her.

Thanks for any comments on this matter.

Is there some rule in the horsey world not to put a draft horse with regular horse breeds?

Thanks for any comments or help on this matter.

I have friends that have draft horses and others mixed...I know they don't have any unusual problems...as you say she isn't doing anything but protecting herself, so it would seem just fine. I have kept ponies with horses, also...same thing, no? Just depends on the horses. Yes, she could do some damage, but so could any other horse. I had one horse kick another and break it's leg. Both horses were the same size....Hope this helps! :)

Life is short...Lets LIVE and ride for the brand!
