Simple Saddle Can't Post

I'm a cheap SOB but when it comes to my horse I only want what is best. I have a cheap black saddle. The fake leather one and a good pad. I like to use a string girth and leather reans. Any idea about what a nylon head set would do if worn for a 2 hour ride? Or my cheap sattle?

Thanks

Re: [mffarmall] Simple Saddle [In reply to] Can't Post

Saddle: regardless of the cost, $100-$10,000, if a saddle does not fit it does not fit. For a short ride the worst is not too bad unless there is something sharp sticking out or pinching the horse. For longer rides or over the long haul a poor fitting saddle can make a horse really back sore. I have seen a horse ridden too hard for too long a time on one day and when the rider put the pad on the horses back it almost went to its knees. Some of the new nylon saddles are not so bad whereas some cheap mexican saddles are killers.

Bridles/Headstalls: There are a lot of pretty good quality braided nylon bridles and reins that folks use with out problems. Again, just make sure there are not a lot of sharp edges.
